On July 9 at EXPO-2017, the National Day of the Republic of Latvia was celebrated

On July 9 at EXPO-2017, the National Day of the Republic of Latvia was celebrated.The celebrative event was opened by the welcoming speech from President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis who expressed deep gratitude to the EXPO-2017 Exhibition Organizers.

“EXPO-2017 has once more stressed the role of Kazakhstan in the contemporary world. Participation of Latvia in the EXPO is a very important event for our people. The Exhibition will lend a unique chance to our enterprises willing to glorify Latvia”,said Mr. Raimonds Vējonis.

The event was also attended by the RK Principal Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Askar Mamin, Astana EXPO-2017 National Company Chairman of Board Mr. Akhmetzhan Yessimov, and other high officials and guests of the EXPO-2017 International Specialized Exhibition.

In his turn, Mr. Askar Mamin marked that this year the diplomatic relations between Latvia and Kazakhstan will meet their 25th anniversary. He also related about the possibilities of transit sector development between the two countries.

Under the National Day, Latvian musicians prepared a special concert program and acquainted the audience with the folk culture. Namely, a jazz-style executor, musicians and composer Intars Busulis, the famous Māris Briežkalns Quintet and legendary Maestro Raimonds Pauls performed for the Exhibition guests.

Upon the official part, the delegation headed by President of the Republic of Latvia Mr. Raimonds Vējonis visited the Pavilions of Kazakhstan and Latvia.
